Hulu Review 2022: At home, if we have time to watch it, we’re watching Hulu. We are happily paying for Hulu because it is worth the money. Unlike most streaming services which see a lot of new content hit after its release date, Hulu is usually on top of the game and has everything that you can think of. You can easily find good quality series’ and new movies as soon as they come out in the theatre or when they are published on DVD – some even before that.

You can watch all kinds of series, including those with a scary or violent theme (which is great for us horror fans). Hulu also has a lot of tv shows where only the first season is available at launch and then other seasons will come later on. But who knows…you might find something you like so much that you’ll be ready to pay for it.

Hulu streaming services full review

Hulu is a subscription-based streaming service that offers some on-demand shows and movies for free. We test the claim by signing up for Hulu and other streaming services to see what’s free.

When it comes to streaming TV shows and movies, Hulu is a big player. (So is Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus and HBO Max.)

But you don’t need to pay for a monthly subscription to watch shows on Hulu. The service also offers a limited number of episodes and movies for free — without requiring any payment information or sign-up.

We tested if this was really possible by trying out Hulu’s free service ourselves. Below, we’ve laid out what we found — as well as other ways you can enjoy content on the platform without paying a dime.

Quality of the Streaming service

Hulu has streaming services with movies and TV shows. Hulu has been around for sometime now and it is one of the best streaming services available for your tv. They have a good selection of different genres that you can choose from and watch your favorite shows. They also have a variety of different tv channels that you can stream on your laptop or desktop computer.

Hulu is one of my favorite streaming services. I like how they make it so easy to find new shows to watch, and they make the process of finding new episodes really simple.

Hulu also has great customer service, which makes using their service even better. I like that they are always trying to improve their service and make it better for users.

I would recommend this service if you are looking for a good streaming service.

Pricing

Subscription plans available for watching on the web: Hulu with Limited Commercials, Hulu (No Ads), Hulu + Live TV (Beta).

Here’s what you need to know about the Hulu plans available for watching on the web:

Hulu with Limited Commercials ($6.99/month (or $69.99/year): This plan gives you access to full seasons of exclusive series, hit movies, Hulu Originals, kids shows, and more. You will see a few ads while watching shows in this plan.

Hulu (No Ads) $12.99/month: This plan gives you access to full seasons of exclusive series, hit movies, Hulu Original Series & Kids Shows, and more. There will be no ads at all when watching your favorite shows and movies in this plan.

Hulu + Live TV ($64.99 per month): This is our new beta live TV plan that gives you access to live and on demand programming from over 50 top channels, plus the entire Hulu streaming library with limited or no ads.

You can take advantage of a free trial by signing up for Hulu with Limited Commercials. After your free trial, you’ll pay $11.99/month for the No Ads plan or $7.99/month if you want to watch commercials. If you decide you don’t like Hulu with Limited Commercials, cancel before the free trial ends, and you won’t be charged a thing.

Hulu’s Interface

Hulu’s interface is a very familiar one if you’ve used Netflix, Amazon Prime, or YouTube. There’s a home screen with recommendations based on your viewing habits as well as an entire section dedicated to Hulu originals. There’s also a search function that lets you look for specific shows, movies, or actors. You can mark content as favorites by selecting the heart icon and all of that content will be readily available in the My Stuff section.

If you’ve subscribed to Hulu Live TV, the interface is slightly different than the one for the standard streaming service. That’s because there are more options available. In addition to being able to watch live TV, you can also access the standard on-demand library along with your recorded shows and movies. The interface is mostly similar to what you’ll find on other streaming services, but there is one thing that Hulu has that no other service can boast: a personalized guide.

The personalized guide lets you see what’s on right now by pulling information from all of your favorite channels so all of the content you care about is in one place. If you need to find something else to watch but don’t want to scroll through every single channel, there are other ways to narrow down what you’re looking for — a feature that makes it unique.

Availability of Current and Past Seasons

Hulu has the most shows available out of any of the streaming services, but it depends on what you are looking to watch. Live TV subscribers can stream current seasons of shows like Family Guy, This is Us and Modern Family right after they air on TV. If you have a Hulu account without Live TV, you won’t be able to watch the newest episodes until a few weeks after they air.

In addition to live and new episodes, Hulu also offers access to thousands of past episodes. You can watch full seasons of many popular shows from their beginning all the way up to the present day. If you’re looking for some classics, Hulu also offers older seasons of shows like Saturday Night Live and The Golden Girls.

Live TV subscribers also get access to a 50-hour cloud DVR and two simultaneous streams per account. If you want more DVR space or additional streams, you can upgrade your plan for an extra fee ($15 per month for 200 hours of recording space and unlimited streams).

Original Programming

Hulu’s original programming has become a major part of the service. Unlike Netflix, Hulu’s shows are usually tied to other networks — either as co-productions or as a way to get streaming rights for existing shows.

The service’s first original series was Battleground, a political comedy from the producers of The Office. It was quickly followed by Quick Draw, a western comedy that played off the genre’s clichés.

Hulu’s biggest hit was its adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s novel The Handmaid’s Tale. The dystopian drama received critical acclaim and multiple Emmy Awards. Other popular originals include sci-fi dramas Future Man and Runaways, comedies Casual and PEN15, and anthology series Dimension 404 and Into the Dark.

Closed Captions and Audio Tracks

Closed Captions and Audio Tracks

Hulu is committed to making its content accessible to all audiences. To that end, we offer a variety of accessibility features, including:

Closed captions: Hulu settings currently allow you to turn on or off closed captioning for all titles or adjust your settings for each individual title you watch. To adjust the closed captioning settings for an individual title, click the gear icon on the video player, select “Closed Captioning” from the pop-up menu and make your selection.

Audio tracks: Hulu currently offers audio tracks in English (Stereo), English (5.1 Surround) and Japanese (Stereo). If a particular show has multiple audio tracks available, you can switch between them while watching by selecting the gear icon on the video player and selecting “Audio Tracks” from the pop-up menu.

Hearing impaired subtitles: If a show is available with hearing impaired subtitles, they will automatically play when you turn on closed captioning. You can change the subtitle style in your closed captioning settings.

Deciding between Hulu and Netflix

The biggest difference is in the size of the catalog — Netflix has more original programming, but Hulu offers more current seasons of popular shows.

Netflix vs. Hulu: Price

Netflix and Hulu are both reasonably priced at $7.99 for a basic plan that includes commercials. Both services offer an ad-free option, which adds $4 to the monthly price for each service ($11.99 total). That’s just $1 more than Hulu with ads.

The higher-end plans bring you Ultra HD content, which has four times the resolution of traditional HD video (and thus looks really good on a 4K TV set). But they also cost quite a bit more. The Netflix Ultra HD plan costs $15.99/month, while Hulu’s is just $14/month.

If you’re looking to stream on multiple devices at once, Netflix allows up to four screens streaming simultaneously, while Hulu only allows two screens.

In the end, it comes down to whether you want more current seasons or more original programming for about the same price point — or if you’d rather pay less for both.

In this article, you will find full review of Hulu streaming services

There is a lot to like about Hulu, the streaming service that wants to bring you the shows you love to watch. The idea is simple: Sign up and get access to hundreds of popular TV shows, with new episodes available the day after they air on broadcast television. There are also thousands of movies available to rent or purchase.

In many ways, Hulu is a competitor to Netflix, but it offers a slightly different selection of movies and TV shows, as well as a few unique features.

Hulu bases its business model on advertising, which means that you won’t be paying quite as much for the service but will be subjected to more commercials than you would on some other services.

Conclusion

So here’s the question: what are Hulu’s streaming services in the first place? Well, we’ve already discussed the difference between Hulu Plus and Hulu Live TV, so you already know what you’re getting. Basically, these two services allow you to watch network shows and their respective seasons and a portion of them on Hulu’s website when they air while also allowing you to watch full episodes via a paid subscription.

However, those who want to watch some content that isn’t on Hulu including HBO Miniseries and Fox network shows will have to subscribe for their own service. But that’s where things get tricky. Not everyone has internet or even cable at home, so extra options are necessary.

This is where live TV streaming services like Sling and PlayStation Vue come in. These services allow subscribers to watch networks like The CW, ESPN, and AMC live through their TVs. So it could be argued that these services aren’t exactly “streaming,” but they are a cheaper alternative to having your favorite shows exclusively on the small screen of your computer or smartphone.
